Sairee Chahal is a serial entrepreneur, investor, and board member. She built her first company in 1999 and has since conceptualized and founded #WomensInternet in India. She founded Fleximoms, SHEROES, and Mahila Money – all internet platforms for women, connecting them to the economic mainstream via employment, entrepreneurshi,p and capital impacting over 10 million women directly and indirectly.

SHEROES, an online ecosystem for women to offer employment, mental health support, community resources and skilling to women reached 20 million women.

Mahila Money a neo-bank for women that offers access to capital, financial literacy, and credit-building tools for women entrepreneurs. 

Sairee also founded Appreciate Capital – an early-stage venture fund with a gender-smart, world positive thesis.

She currently serves on the board of Unicommerce eSolutions Pvt. Ltd, Software Freedom Law Center (SFLC) and TRRAIN,The Trust for Retailers and Retail Associates of India founded by B S Nagesh.

She is a recipient of the Devi Award for Women in Leadership, Femina Achiever’s Award for her contribution to women’s internet and technology, Cartier Award for entrepreneurship, Editor’s Choice for L’Oreal Femina Women’s Award for Women in Workforce, and Business Today’s Most Powerful Women in Indian Business Award for Women in Business.



Sairee is credited with building up an ecosystem to support women in their journeys as entrepreneurs and leaders. Sairee built a strong technology play to solve the problems of gender disparity in India.

A technology entrepreneur, Sairee has straddled the best of both worlds in her ventures Newslink, Fleximoms, SHEROES and Mahila Money. Her community-meets-platform approach has made SHEROES a globally formidable platform, changing the game for women and their aspirations. And Mahila Money, a community neobank for women offering capital solutions to women entrepreneurs is making dreams come true for many.

With an M.Phil from JNU, and a PGDBM from IMT Ghaziabad, Sairee kickstarted her professional career while still in college before cofounding her first startup. She went on to also work at corporates like Heidrick and Struggles and CII.
